Installation and integration

A defined process from assessment to ongoing support

A smart home can fail at installation long before it fails at technology. Lotus Smart Living Pte Ltd checks your flat, tests device compatibility and guides your household through setup, training and support.

The installation plan

Six stages, each with a clear deliverable

We agree the scope before equipment is fitted. Timing depends on the flat, device choices and any wiring work, so we confirm the schedule after assessment.

01

Needs assessment

We meet the household, review routines and note the flat's layout and existing equipment.

Deliverable: written needs summary
02

Product selection

We match devices to the agreed tasks, budget and the way family members will use them.

Deliverable: proposed device list
03

Compatibility testing

We check appliances, network conditions, firmware and the intended integrations before confirming the equipment.

Deliverable: compatibility findings
04

Installation

We fit and connect the approved devices, then check their basic operation in the actual rooms.

Deliverable: installed setup
05

Accessibility and training

We set controls with the senior present and show the family daily use, overrides and recovery steps.

Deliverable: household walkthrough
06

Ongoing support

We explain how to request help with settings or a device issue after the system goes live.

Deliverable: support route and next steps
Before we recommend equipment

What we look at during the assessment

The visit is about your real home and daily routines. No guesswork.

  • Floor plan and device locationsWe review room layout, power point positions, likely sensor locations and practical access for installation.
  • Existing devices and network coverageWe note what is already installed and check where Wi-Fi or other connections may affect performance.
  • Household routinesWe ask which daily tasks matter to each person, including lighting, air-conditioning and check-in routines.
  • Comfort and accessibilityWe discuss the senior's preferred controls, hearing or mobility needs and comfort with voice commands.
HDB device integration

We test before we commit

Older fittings and newer smart devices do not always work together. If a device is unsuitable for your setup, we will say so and leave it out of the installation.

  • Appliance and control checksWe check intended links to lighting, air-conditioning and kitchen appliances against the equipment present in the flat.
  • Network behaviourWe assess coverage and discuss what the system can and cannot do if the internet connection drops.
  • Firmware and integration versionsWe check the versions relevant to the proposed setup and flag dependencies before installation.
  • Legacy HDB automationOlder wiring, switches or appliances may limit the options. We identify those constraints before recommending a route.
Built around Singapore homes

Legacy blocks, BTO units, Punggol and Tengah

The right installation depends on the flat's existing infrastructure and the space available. We plan around the home you have.

Older HDB blocks

We inspect existing switches, wiring and appliance controls before suggesting legacy HDB automation.

Constraint to check: older fittings may need a different device or a simpler control plan.

Standard BTO layouts

We plan device placement around room use, power points and the household's preferred way to control each space.

Constraint to check: confirm network reach and suitable mounting positions room by room.

Punggol and Tengah

For smart-enabled homes, we review the infrastructure already present before adding compatible devices.

Constraint to check: existing systems and proposed equipment must be verified together.

Compact layouts and rentals

We account for service yards, shared walls, tight circulation and limited cabling options.

Constraint to check: tenants can ask about reversible fitting and reinstatement needs.
After installation

Training and support after handover

We make time for the person who will use the system every day. Family members can join the walkthrough too.

  • Daily controls and overrides

We demonstrate the main controls, how to change a setting and how to use a manual override.

  • Commands that feel natural

With the senior present, we set up accessible controls and use the words they are comfortable saying.

  • Briefing for the whole household

We explain what the system does, how it behaves and what family members should expect. A briefing can be arranged in the household's preferred language.

  • What to do when something fails

We walk through basic checks and clarify when to contact the support team rather than changing settings blindly.
